Poll!
As I’m building the new section of my site, I’ve been stumped by a few things. While looking at other photographers’ sites, there’s no real standard in so many areas of the portfolio, and the area that I’m most stumped about is the music. Some photographers have it start automatically and have no button to […]

Baptism
Here’s a beautiful baptism ceremony Jamie photographed last weekend at Dumbarton United Methodist Church. I love that Jamie’s portfolio is going to be full of photos beyond just wedding ceremonies and typical still life work! All photos in this post are by Jamie Michaels.
It’s almost the weekend, and I can hear my three portrait sessions calling now… Jamie and I are set up to do a whole bunch of headshots/model portraits on Saturday and I’m totally stoked. Yesterday Brad and I arrived home after shooting a phenomenal wedding in Philadelphia. We were beat, but as I started to upload and backup all of the photos, I found something pretty distressing - none of the third-party applications on my ancient iMac would open.

The goal was to create a book of five individuals’ letters to me about things that they had lost, alongside a picture that I took that abstractly represented what it was they had written about. So I contacted […]

In many ways just desaturating a photo can give it entirely new meaning and elicit a very different reaction from the viewer. Still, there’s more that can be done to a photo once it’s shifted to black and white to […]

I took some architectural pictures while studying in Prague. The below proof prints were taken the first week I was in Prague; the other three photo students and I followed around our photo professor every day for about eight hours to get a sense of the city and the places we could go. It was […]
