March 17th, 2008 Details from our wedding
I’m right in the middle of picking out photos for our album. I had no idea it’d be this hard, and I have a newfound sympathy for those couples going through the same process! Digging through the box of proofs our photographers gave us, I’m reminded why it’s so important to have professional photographers - they will catch things that you will otherwise never see, that no one else can be trained to look for. Here are some details that are making me get pretty emotional :)
Yes, this is me. In my wedding dress. Pouring ketchup on my hamburger. I was a very happy camper.
You may ask, why Brad’s shoes? Well, it’s because he lost his shoes for the wedding up until fifteen minutes before the ceremony. It cracks me up just thinking about it.
This was during the toasts. Again, our photographers are absolutely amazing, and they caught so many things that we would’ve missed but represent our day and the love and celebration. I’m so glad that they were there to document it.
Meet Stosch, the solo canine attendant at our wedding. I only remember seeing her as I was getting ready before the ceremony - it’s clear she’s totally pooped after having so much fun at our reception.
This is immediately after the ceremony, just before people started coming out to greet us in the receiving line. This is our SECOND kiss as husband and wife, and we were just reveling in being married. I thought no one saw us. :)
Wedding photography is, no doubt about it, the hardest job I’ve ever had. It’s the most physically draining and mentally exhausting, since you are on your toes the entire time watching for these shots. It’s also the most gratifying and wonderful, and the feeling you get when you know you catch moments like these is absolutely phenomenal.
