January 4th, 2008 Polaroid Transfers - Barbara and Solomon
Yesterday I wrote about what Polaroid transfers are and how they work. Today I wanted to post some Polaroid transfers I’ve done from an actual wedding we shot in November. My favorite are the images from the Hora.
We also took some detail shots on film:
Last, here are some of the above images fully developed onto Polaroids (originally taken on slide film):
This technique is a lot of fun, and each transfer creates a different texture and pattern on the image. I repeated the process for each of these images to try different exposures and transfer techniques, and we’ll continue to develop the process with more weddings. Please let us know if you’d like us to try this with your wedding images! If we do bring film cameras to your wedding, we shoot on them sparingly, and only having captured everything on digital first. That way, we’re sure not to miss any of the fun on our memory cards :)
*NOTE: A Softer Image strives to be as “green” as possible while photographing weddings. By shooting entirely digitally we minimize the use of film and its waste, and when we do use film, we recycle everything with special care and effort. Everything from the cardboard box the film came in to its plastic canister is properly sorted and recycled or reused. The paper we used for the Polaroid transfers above is recycled paper. We purchase the film in bulk to minimize packaging.
