December 28th, 2007 2007: Unusual Wedding Photos
I was digging through all of the photos taken by A Softer Image photographers for the year-end edition of our monthly newsletter (which you can sign up for here!) and came across a handful of exceptionally unusual photos taken at weddings this year. Yes, we do a lot of nontraditional weddings, but the below shows that even more traditional weddings can have unusual photos!
I was with Erik while he was getting ready to marry Kate when he realized he needed to copy down his vows on a piece of paper - not stand at the altar with his Blackberry! I love that in this photo you can read the words in his vows; they were very sweet.
This is another getting-ready image, as Becky (the bride) was finishing up her hair in her bathroom. Her dress and shoes were stunning, and this is what inspired me to wear purple shoes at my own wedding!
I’m still not sure if what’s going on in the next photo is the venue’s idea or the couple’s, but including a golf tee at the water’s edge of your cocktail hour is an excellent idea.
Lastly, for those of you familiar with DC public transportation, you’ll recognize this as a Metro car. What a great way to transport your bridal party from pre-ceremony portraits at Union Station to your ceremony!
